It would look DORKY, but I think that the best sound would come from a straight through (no baffle) attachment that would essentially be like two dust pans welded together, so as the handle would slip over the pipe and the opening would be the front edge of the pans. Would think that the pans should be lined with fiberglass, held in place with a stainless steel grating sheet. What I am saying is that the sound should go through a really narrow flat box.

Another brilliant idea is a megaphone, lined with feather duster shaped innards. Of course the feathers would be a full length, long running bouquet, of thin (free vibrating) stainless steel wires.
